Our first stop will be Siena, the medieval atmosphere, stunning Cathedral and surrounding landscapes make Siena a favorite destination for a vast number of visitors. Siena, its monuments and art treasures are considered a World Heritage site protected by UNESCO.
Your trip continues on to Monteriggioni, where you will discover a fully intact medieval walled village. The wall includes 14 turrets and was built in 1203 . Lunch will then be served at a restaurant inside the castle. Here you will be treated to traditional Tuscan dishes, accompanied with a selection of fine red and white Chianti wines. Following the historical “Francigena way”, an important and ancient medieval pilgrimage route connecting northern France with Rome, we reach the doors of San Gimignano, one of the most famous medieval hill towns in Italy.
San Gimignano is renowned for its numerous towers, representing the wealth of the noble families of that epoch. And for ice cream lovers there is a special treat: Dondoli's Ice Cream Parlor, which has won numerous awards and is considered the best in Europe! On the way back we will have a short stop in Piazza Michelangelo, a large piazza that offers one of the most superb views of Florence.
